YFC/KZN Khayalethu and Tennyson House had a training workshop last week Monday, 21 January 2019 to Friday, 25 January 2019. The workshop that was an interactive training saw staff members and interns carrying out a number of activities and engaging in discussions rather than listening passively to the training facilitator or presenter.

Sally Mann who was one of the training facilitators said the purpose of the workshop was to assist staff and interns to understand the vision and goal of the organisation. “YFC was established many years ago with the aim to bring hope to children and youth in and from less privileged backgrounds. Our job is to support, care, engage, enable and equip young people”, said Mann. “I hope the team is going to walk an extra mile and work tirelessly in serving children and youth”, she added.

Khayalethu Community Program Facilitator, Zinhle Memele said the training workshop empowered her. “The workshop was very assistive and educative. I now have a better understanding and knowledge of what my job entails”, said Memela. She added that giving hope, care and support to children and youth remains her primary objective.
