The Wonders of Winter and drive to education

As a company that cares deeply about the communities in which it operates, Engen heard our appeal as we requested assistance during this winter period at the Tennyson house shelter, and they sure did show up for our girls.

Engen donated a R5000 fuel voucher which will be used to transport children to school and winter blankets to provide warmth and shelter to girls living at the shelter.

Youth for Christ KwaZulu natal Regional Director Mr Sboniso Nzuza unpacked in terms of the work of our organisation and expressed his heartfelt gratitude “We are extremely grateful to Engen for their support which will give hope to many young children struggling with socio-economic challenges, and now since its winter we might have new girls joining us because of the cold on the streets,” said Nzuza

Engen Head of transformation and stakeholder engagement, Dr James Nyawera, says Engen’s caring spirit drives its desire to step up and take proactive measures to assist vulnerable children.

“While we know it will take much more to alleviate the poverty faced by many communities, we hope our contribution will make a small difference to each person who receives the comfort of a helping hand as a result of our efforts,” adds Nyawera. The handover took place at Tennyson House Girls Shelter in Durban, 1280 Umngeni Road.
