“Forward ever! Backward Never! I am my brother’s keeper”, this is the 2019 theme that The Bridge Project and its beneficiaries came up with.
One of the beneficiaries, Fezi Mbulo (16) said he is excited and ready to live and go forward in life while living with the HIV virus. “I refuse to be discriminated and under estimated due to my HIV status. I am normal, healthy and able like any other persons. I can do all things to Christ who strengthens me”, said enthusiastic Mbulo. He added that a better world for people living with HIV is a better world for everyone.
The Bridge Coordinator, Ntombenhle Ndlazi said their beneficiaries are determined and firm about living their lives positively with the HIV virus. Ndlazi said the project’s monthly support groups for young girls and boys has commenced. “The support groups has started and we looking forward to have an increase in the number of our beneficiaries. Young girls and boys living in and coming from surrounding areas of Hammarsdale meet every first weekend of each month to collect their chronic medication, health check- ups and group discussions”, explained Ndlazi. She added that she is happy with the determination and commitment shown by a group of young girls and boys.
