Internship Coordinator, Stacie Adams and One Life Church team (Destiny Leadership Academy) conducted training sessions for the missionary students on the 15th, 22nd and 29th of July 2019.
Adams said the project partnered with the church with the aim of empowering and developing student missionaries. “This is our 3rd year training the students at One Life Church. We provide training on devotions, life and leadership skills”, explained Adams.
She added that July training focused on helping and preparing the students since they will be departing to Zimbabwe in August. “The training sessions covered strengths based engagement and how student missionaries can help people to find their own solutions to problems. We also used journaling to reflect learning and application to the mission and we looked at group facilitation”, explained Adams. She added that the students were also taught how to connect with people as they will be working and meeting with different people.
