Pupils from Ethekwini West and North High schools were excited when they received textbooks for subjects such as Mathematics, Geometry, History, Computer Science and novels in recent months.
According to Thulani Zondi “The Bridge” Project Director, this followed after FHI360 and Books for Africa made a donation of 93 boxes of various books. “We did not only receive textbooks but we also received novels, encyclopaedias, health books and adult fiction. We distributed some of the books to public libraries that are in the various communities, the books that were not for children were taken to our resource corner in our offices”, explained Zondi.
Zondi said the donated books were on health, mathematics, novels, history and computer science encyclopaedias. He urged the pupils to equip themselves with knowledge and information through reading.
