YFC/KZN attended the Speed Networking for Good that was held by the Pietermaritzburg Chamber of Business (PCB) NGO Forum on the 20th of June 2019 at the Royal Showgrounds.
Di Milford from PCB said the event was aimed at creating a fun, informative and convenient meeting place for Pietermaritzburg businesses and Non-Governmental/ Profit Organisation’s in order to create a meaningful partnership for Mandela Day. “ We are excited that we are able to connect the local businesses with NGO’s, since many businesses want to get involved and support NGO’s for Mandela Day but don’t have the time to make proper arrangements. For many, this is a missed opportunity to be active and make a significant difference”, said Milford.
YFC/KZN Resource Mobilisation Officer, Jabu Ndlovu said it was important for the organisation to partner with local businesses in making a positive contribution to the lives of others. “Giving hope to those who are in need is our primary objective and our collective responsibility. We are looking forward to this special day of giving 67 minutes of our time to make a difference”, said Ndlovu.
