It is often said that, if you cannot do great things, then do small things in a great way. Copesville High School grade 10 pupils spent at least 7 hours on the 24th of July 2019 at the Khayalethu community Drop-in Centre in Ezinketheni. The pupils visited the Centre with the aim of learning about the work of the Khayalethu project and its programs. The team also participated in activities that take place at the Centre such as bible study, play date, homework and life skills programs. They also assisted in preparations of sandwiches which are given to children on a daily basis.
Phiwe Ntuba, 17, said visiting the Centre was part of their school assignment that required them to participate in community work and to reach out to those who are in need. She expressed that they are excited about the experience and hope to visit the Centre more often. “Giving back and investing in other communities that are less privileged is rewarding and fulfilling. We are excited that we spend our time doing good and learning about the community of Ezinketheni and their challenges “, said Ntuba.
